Wildlife Recovery Appeal
It has been a challenging year so far for Australia. Our community, wildlife and habitat has been severely damaged by catastrophic bushfires and drought during summer and now we are facing a worldwide health epidemic. At Taronga, we hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and well.
During this time, our Wildlife Hospitals in Sydney and Dubbo are still continuing to treat and care for a record amount of sick and injured wildlife. Right now, where many basic resources are scarce, we need your help more than ever.
With all fires in NSW now thankfully under control, we are only now getting a clear picture of the damage to animal populations and habitat. Things are looking dire for a number of species.
Many of the surviving animals need ongoing medical care and rehabilitation as their wild populations have been nearly decimated.
By supporting us today you can continue the long road to recovery for our precious wildlife.
Wildlife Crisis Appeal
Catastrophic bushfires and ongoing drought have ravaged our beloved country. These fires, combined with the ongoing long-term drought, have decimated already fragile animal populations.
The number of animals believed to have perished as a result of these catastrophic conditions is estimated more than 1 billion with fires alone, many more when the effects of the drought are considered.
Wildlife is facing a crisis, they need your help now more than ever before. Please donate urgently today to help save our wildlife from the devastation of the bushfires and drought.
Bring Bilbies back to the wild
The Greater Bilby needs all the support they can get.
Once abundant, sadly, this iconic marsupial is a threatened species and now extinct in the wild in NSW.
Your gift today can make a huge impact on the future of the Bilby and bring them back from extinction.
Sumatran Tiger Appeal
They’re a long way from the wilds of Indonesia, but Taronga’s new Sumatran Tiger cubs have a powerful role to play in the conservation of their wild counterparts. And so do you.
With less than 350 left in the wild, we could soon lose these magnificent creatures. Please, give a donation to protect them against poachers and save their habitat against illegal deforestation today.
Plains-wanderer Urgent Appeal
Numbers of Plains-wanderer have plunged by 90% in the past two decades and there are less than 1,000 left in the wild. The situation is so bad that they have been classified as critically endangered.
Unless we act right now, we could soon lose one of Australia’s most ancient and remarkable bird species.
Sun Bear Appeal
Sun Bears are one of the world's rarest bears. Sun Bear populations are suffering from extreme habitat loss due to deforestation, logging and conversion of habitat into palm oil plantations. Taronga needs your support to continue to address the serious threats to the survival of the Sun Bear.
Corroboree Frog Appeal
Donate today and join the fight to save the Corroboree Frog before it's too late. Your gift will help support the National Recovery Program to urgently breed and release more fungus resistant frogs and eggs into the wild to rebuild populations.
Fundraising is one of the most powerful and gratifying ways that you can help us secure a future for wildlife. With your support, we can breed threatened species, carry on our vital scientific research and support conservation programs across the globe.
Major donations help the Taronga Foundation care for the animals in our Zoos and achieve excellence in wildlife conservation, research, education and breeding programs for endangered wildlife in Australia and overseas.
